  • I made my own Soy Chorizo! It came out well, but I gotta try it a few more times before I share a recipe. It was a good start though! These are soy chorizo and potato tacos.
.
.
So the real test is, is it as good as Trader Joe’s #SoyChorizo ? The very honest answer is not yet... it was damn good though. Might have to do some more scientific “research” and pick some up and do some side by side. But first, does anyone care? Seriously, does anyone actually want a soy chorizo recipe or would you rather just buy it? I know not everyone is blessed to have a Trader Joe’s nearby... anyway, let me know in the comments! 😬

  • I found myself with an excess of eggs. My husband used to eat eggs every morning but now he’s on a muesli kick. But the thing is, I’ve been shopping as if he still eats eggs every day. So realizing I had to start doing something with these eggs, my immediate thought was to make a quiche or a frittata. But the thing is, I’m still burnt out from frittatas ever since I did Whole30 3 years ago... So I really don’t care to make another one. Then I remembered seeing an Egg Biryani recipe by @ministry_of_curry and I thought that was much more eggciting 🥴
.
This turned out beautifully. I followed the recipe exactly how it was written and had great results. I highly recommend this recipe as well as ANY recipe by @ministry_of_curry! She has an Indian @instantpotofficial cookbook that is basically the best Instant Pot cookbook ever. She has done such a good job translating dishes for the Instant Pot. I’m a big, big fan so check her out if you are looking for some REALLY good #InstantPotRecipes !

  • It’s a chicken Caesar salad! Classic! I made the mistake of filling up on croutons before the chicken was done. The salad was almost unnecessary but it was delicious. Shout out to @bygeorgepa for making delicious dressing and croutons!

  • It’s #FoodFetishFriday and I’m honored to be a guest on @davesherotski page. The theme is FAKING IT! In honor of this theme I’ve recreated a @bonefishgrill classic- Bang Bang Shrimp!
Only thing is I used cauliflower instead of shrimp. It’s not Take Out, it’s Fake Out! The flavors are spot on except we don’t have to feel bad about the shrimp (did you watch Seaspiracy on @netflix ? It fucked me up...). So anyway, sometimes faking it is a good thing. Be sure to check out Dave’s post!!!

💥Bang Bang💥 Cauliflower
.
Head of cauliflower cut into bites
1 cup flour
1 cup water
Panko bread crumbs
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup mayonnaise (or vegan mayo)
1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
2 tsp sriracha (less if you don’t want it that spicy, I like a kick)
Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
.
Preheat oven to 450°
Mix together flour and water and season with salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl.
Toss the cauliflower in the flour mixture and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle with Panko bread crumbs for extra crunch.
Put it in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl mix together the mayo, Thai sweet chili and sriracha.
Once the cauliflower is done, toss in the bang bang sauce and then put it in a serving dish or bowl and sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top.

  • #TofuTuesday 😋 This is the “Spicy and Crunchy Garlic Tofu (Kkanpoong Tofu)” by @the.korean.vegan and I’m pleased to report that this is an excellent recipe! So crunchy! So spicy! So flavorful!
.
I once accidentally bought a 1 lb bag of gochugaru (don’t ask) and so I’m thankful to have another recipe to use it with 🥲
If you are looking for more vegetarian dishes that are satisfying and flavorful, I highly recommend this one. I knew right away when the recipe called for 7 cloves of garlic and peppers with the seeds that this was going to be a winner.
.
I made some broccoli to go with this just because I felt like I needed something green in my life but in hindsight I think some spinach would be great too... maybe sauté it with some sesame oil and soy sauce 🤤 Next time I’ll try that but there’s nothing wrong with some good Ol steamed broccoli...

  • #MeatballMonday ‼️‼️ These are my lemongrass pork meatballs that I froze the last time I made a batch of Vietnamese hoagies. This is like a deconstructed banh mi bowl. Rice, herbs, pickled daikon and carrots and a spicy mayo. It’s missing cucumbers and jalapeños but it’s good enough for a weeknight!
.
You can find the recipe for the meatballs in an earlier post for the sandwiches. Or just DM me. I’ll send it to you. Should probably put it up on my neglected website...

  • Fish sandwich with jalapeño coleslaw.
.
The coleslaw is a nice way to dress up regular frozen fish fillets. I’ve been testing out this recipe. I made it with regular sugar and I made it with honey. I’m still trying to figure out which one I like best. I think it might be the honey... Anyway, happy Easter? I probably should have been posting fish sandwich content before Easter for Lent but I don’t really plan these things. Hopefully fish sandwiches can still be relevant.

  • I decided to start something new! #PhillyFoodieFriday !! I realized I have tons of pictures of food from local restaurants that I never posted in my feed. I kept them mostly in my stories because I didn’t feel like the pictures fit in with my grid, but guess what. I DON’T CARE ANYMORE! 🤪
.
So anyway, here are some pita sandwiches from @merkaz_philly 😋 It’s hard to pick a favorite because they are all so good. What I have here is 1) chicken schnitzel 2) Sabich 3) lamb shawarma 😍 Merkaz also has delicious drinks to choose from. It took me a WHILE to finally try this place and now I know what I was missing! I want to eat this every day!
.
So if you were going to start a feature would you call it Philly Foodie Friday or be a nerd about it and spell it Philly Phoodie Phriday ? (Also has this already been done? 😂 oh well)

  • I made a waffle out of leftover corned beef hash from @famous4thdelicatessen 😋 i just whisked an egg and added it to some corned beef hash and put it in my waffle maker. Then I just added a fried egg on top and got a remixed breakfast!
Famous 4th st has gigantic proportions. It’s comical how much corned beef hash we got. Definitely no complaints coming from me.
I was going to post this last Thursday for National Waffle Day but I was so sick with a stomach virus, I couldn’t even look at pictures of food. I’m doing better though! Slowly but surely getting my stomach back to normal.
Slide to see the original portion. So what would you do with a mountain of corned beef hash?

  • Baby’s first #Zeppole from @termini_bros bakery. Traditionally eaten on St. Joseph’s Day and I didn’t actually know that but that’s today!! And it’s the last day to get them from Termini so run, don’t walk! And socially distance! And tip!
